The Prescription Hub

Prescription Information

The Prescription Hub will deal with the majority of medication requests, and is run by a multi-talented team. 

To order your prescription, or for any other enquires you can e-mail The Hub at d-icb.drakeprescriptionhub@nhs.net .

Our prescription hub is no longer based at Tamerton Surgery, therefore please do not post any prescription requests through Tamerton's letter box as they will not be dealt with. Please email your request to the above email address or hand them in at Knowle House Surgery. 

All prescription requests need to be in writing. However if you do face additional challenges that we are aware of, you can call The Hub on 01752 705090 and select Option 2 between 10.00am - 2.00pm, Monday to Friday. Alternativley you can contact the prescription hub directly on 01752 393780.

Timeframes

Please allow 72 hours for prescription requests to be processed and an additional 48 hours for the pharmacy to download and dispense your medication. Our precription team are working hard to keep up with demand and appreciate your patience. 

System Online

You can order repeat prescriptions online through System Online. Speak to one of our Operational Administrators at Knowle House to sign up. If you are already registered with System One, you can download the app or log in here

NHS APP

You can order repeat prescriptions online through the NHS App. Follow the link below to sign up. Get help downloading the app – NHS COVID-19 app support - NHS.UK (covid19.nhs.uk)

If you have a medication query you can submit a an enquiry through the Klink system by following the link 24/7 Contact (klinik.co.uk) (Please note you can not order medication through the Kliinik system) .

How do I change my nominated pharmacy?
 
If you have access to use online services such as the NHS App, you can change your nominated pharmacy by selecting “”change my nominated pharmacy”. Please see link below to access the NHS App.
 
Alternatively, you can e-mail your request to d-icb.drakeprescriptionhub@nhs.net or call the surgery on 01752 705090 and select option 2 between the hours of 10am - 2pm.
 
Please note that any patients who are in receipt of a controlled drug will not be able to have these issued early.
 
NHS Prescription Charges 

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge. Some items, including certain contraceptives, are free of charge. 

  • Prescription (per item): £9.65
  • 3-month PPC: £31.25
  • 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £111.60

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:

  • those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
  • those who are age exempt
  • those with certain medical conditions

Medication Reviews

Patients on long-term medication need a regular check up.

We will contact you via e-mail or text message if you are due a medication review. You will then be required to complete a Klinik consultation which will be assessed and passed to The Prescription Hub.
